TV stands and other storage furniture for the home theater have come a long way. It seems like yesterday that flat screen televisions made their presence felt. Because the technology and the shape of TV sets has continued to evolve, flat screen TVs just from a few years ago seem positively clunky, and so does the furniture that supports them.
The sleek new shape, and the ability to mount your flat panel TV on the wall has also changed home theater furniture. The new flat panel screens are wider, and the depth has been significantly reduced leading to an equally significant change in the style and shape of TV stands.
It would be a mistake to think that all TV stands or entertainment furniture looks alike. It is still possible to find the style that you like and get a TV stand that fits your home and idea of a home theater or media room.
