The Catalina Home Collection was recently added by Copeland Furniture. It combines the influence of the International Modernists with organic and geometric forms. The retro-modern shapes and sensibilities of the Catalina Home Collection are reminiscent of the works of America’s Mid-Century Modern designers.
The Catalina bed pictured here is low, sleek and unadorned. It is designed to hold only a mattress and has angled legs that make it feel as though it is resting more firmly on the ground. The angled legs are echoed in all the other pieces in the collection such as a 3 drawer chest that has organizer options for home entertainment equipment, and a laptop desk that creates a trim, functional workspace. All pieces are made in Vermont of American black walnut and available with a variety of knob or pull options. The bed costs around $1,958 in queen.
This collection offers two features that are especially in great demand, functionality and the green factor. Copeland Furniture was awarded Silver Exemplary Membership Status by Sustainable Furnishings Council, and uses wood from sustainable sources. Copeland Furniture adheres to many of the standards for green furniture.
