Tempur-Pedic Mattresses

We just recently bought a Tempurpedic mattress (as in 4 days ago). Before we purchased we had an old worn out Posturpedic - 8 years old with a huge dip in the middle, so obviously any mattress would have been better than the one we were sleeping on. We knew we wanted a Tempurpedic or at least a plush pillowtop mattress. We were hesitant about the price and almost click submit to an Amazon 8"" Memory Foam mattress for $500. Although the reviews were great on those mattresses, the thought of it not lasting more than a few months wasn't worth the money for us. We got great financing and looked at it as an investment. By all means you cant beat a 20 year warranty, never having to flip another mattress, and the COMFORT! As soon as we laid on the bed in the store we fell in love. We were told and I personally read lots of negative reviews about the comfort for the first few weeks and the smell. Let me tell you what we did so that hopefully you get the same great results we did. When the Tempurpedic first arrived it STUNK so bad, like fresh wet paint, maybe worse. We took about 20 minutes to step all over it (w/socks on of course). We were told that if we did this is would release the factory smell faster and it did. It was a process, but we opened a window and placed a box fan on the opposite side of the room. Opening the room (we live in FL so we just closed the AC vent in our room and closed the door so we weren't dying of heat in the house), stepping all over it and spraying it with Fabreeze a few times the smell was literally almost gone before we went to bed EVEN ON THE FIRST NIGHT. I have very sensitive allergies and have to use an inhaler so I was dreading the thought of sleeping on a smelling fumy mattress. This process really worked! Now, the smell was very slightly noticeable the first night and now its gone. We went all out and bought the King cloud supreme (we like softer beds) because I basically do jumping jacks in my sleep and I was worried about leaving my indention when I moved to my next sleeping position, but because the bed is plush, it bounces back up faster than the firm mattress. On top of that I am the lightest sleeper I know. We did a jump test the first night... I laid on the bed with my eyes closed while by BF actually jumped into bed, I couldn't believe that I couldn't feel him at all. Amazing! VERY HAPPY WITH PURCHASE! It will take us (younger blue collar couple) about two years to pay off, but I couldn't ask for a better bed, better night sleep and a better investment! Glad I didn't waist $500 on an Amazon special. I would recommend to anyone that is skeptical! Trust me it took us about 6 months to decide to go for it and that's 6 months of good sleep we missed out on!
