Back in May we talked about the One Good Chair competition. Before we go into more detail here are the 3 finalists.

Charity Chair

The Charity Chair was designed by Andrej Blazon, of Movo Mesto, Slovenia. The Charity Chair gets its name from the coronet worn by the Sisters of Charity which inspired the form along with Escher’s designs.

BAMTAK Chair

The BAMTAK Chair was designed by Azul Cadenas of Miami Shores, Florida. This chair stresses versatility and can adapt to different positions so urban dwellers in small spaces have a hardworking piece of furniture for different needs.

Sediliegi Chair

The Sediliegi Chair by Helene Cany of Cambrai, France, is a lounge chair for two and constructed from molded cork. The inspiration for the shape comes from Italian cars.

To find out more, go to Sustainable Furnishings Council's website. To participate in online voting for your favorite chair for People's Choice Award, sponsored by treehugger, visit their site.

The finalists were announced after each judge chose ten online entries and gave out numeric scores. Based on these scores, the judges then picked 20 semifinalists choosing the 3 finalists from those. Prototypes of these 3 chairs will be presented at Las Vegas Market, September 14, and the prizewinning entry will be determined at the event. The prototypes will be on exhibit at Las Vegas Market September 14 – 17th.

One Good Chair is sponsored by the SFC, World Market Center Las Vegas, and Metropolis Magazine.
